Voters in the Lynbrook Union Free School District approved the annual school budget and two other propositions at a May 19 special meeting, with district officials reporting Proposition 1 carried 924–345 (73%), Proposition 2 carried 1,003–265 (79%) and Proposition 3 carried 835–347 (71%), the meeting Chair said.
Ms. Moran read precinct subtotals and the districtwide vote counts aloud to the board and those in attendance. The tally announced 924 yes votes and 345 no votes for Proposition 1, which the Chair said surpassed the 60% supermajority threshold required for passage: "We required a 60% super majority, and we exceeded that," the Chair said.
Ms. Moran also reported results for two candidates in the board race: Tara Aragona received a districtwide total of 945 votes and Matthew Hollenstein received 855 votes. The meeting record did not include additional candidate vote breakdowns beyond the totals announced.
After announcing the results, the Chair called for a motion to approve and accept the vote. The motion was made by Ms. Kelly and approved by the board by voice; the Chair then thanked attendees and closed the meeting.
The vote certification and acceptance concluded the special session; no further action or debate was recorded on the propositions during the meeting.
