The Great Falls City Commission approved routine consent and appointment items on Jan. 6, including financial and board actions.
Financial and grants: the Commission approved total expenditures of $4,978,535 for the period of Nov. 27–Dec. 17, 2025, including claims over $25,000 totaling $4,135,563. The Commission adopted Resolution 10614 to amend Resolution 10605 regarding the issuance of a $2,000,000 Water System Revenue Bond (DNRC Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Program) to reflect a 2026 loan closing date. The Commission also authorized Housing and Urban Development funding agreements for Program Year 2025, including a Community Development Block Grant award of $761,417 and a HOME Investment Partnerships award of $226,142.86 and authorized the City Manager to execute the agreements.
Appointments and liaisons: Commissioners appointed Victoria Hunt and Valerie Scheevel to the Park and Recreation Advisory Board for three-year terms through Dec. 31, 2028; Elizabeth Whiting and Debra Evans were appointed to the Great Falls Regional Airport Authority Board for three-year terms through Dec. 31, 2028; Amanda Brumwell was reappointed and London Griffith appointed to the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts Advisory Board through Dec. 31, 2028. Commissioner Joe McKenney was appointed Mayor Pro-Tempore for a two-year term. The Commission also reviewed and listed liaison assignments for numerous advisory boards and committees.
All listed consent and appointment motions were approved by 5-0 votes.
What happens next: staff will proceed with bond closing under the updated schedule, the City Manager is authorized to execute HUD grant agreements, and appointees assume board roles per normal onboarding.
