ADA coordinator schedules accessible-voting meeting June 2; ExpressVote machines and volunteer sign-ups noted

The Butte Silver Bow ADA Advisory Committee on May 21 received an update from ADA Coordinator James Ouellette on preparations to support accessible voting for the upcoming election. Ouellette said an accessible-voting meeting is scheduled for June 2 at the Civic Center and that ExpressVote machines will be available to support independent voting; volunteers interested in assisting with the machines were asked to contact Ouellette by email.
Ouellette reminded committee members that campaign attire is prohibited at voting locations and that accessible voters who require same-day registration can increase staffing demands. Alice De Chelley and Chair Cassie Weightman volunteered to assist with accessible-voting efforts on June 2 at 2:00 p.m.
Separately, Ouellette described plans to convert the courthouse back lot into an accessible parking area, including repaving and restriping of parking lines. The board discussed inviting Emergency Management and Public Works to future meetings to coordinate accessibility work; committee members noted that the summer fire season could delay scheduling for some departments.
The committee also reviewed training resources, including the Rocky Mountain ADA Center and the New England ADA Center, and confirmed a tentative next meeting for August 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Archives. No motions or votes were taken on these items during the meeting.
