Uptown Butte BID moves ahead on streetscape and cleanliness efforts; schedules clean-up and plans new trash cans

The Uptown Butte Business Improvement District advanced multiple streetscape and cleanliness initiatives at its May 6 meeting, including a clean-up date, new trash cans and coordination with public works on alley projects.
Matt Stajcar, Committee member, told the board he will order 10 new garbage cans and that board members will walk the district to determine placement. The board discussed QR-code signage for the cans and noted that county shops will print and adhere signage.
Board members said they will pursue planter improvements and obtain bids. The board noted that an RFP for a streetscape consultant has been written and that further discussion would continue; Shanna Adams said she would follow up with Karen Byrnes on consultant engagement.
On public-works items, Zane Gleason provided an update on a project near Arizona Street (outside the BID district) and the board agreed to pause Motherlode/Central Alley work pending BSB stormwater discussions. The BID requested permission for Napton Alley upgrades to support high use during the Folk Festival and asked Zane to follow up on the feasibility of pressure-washing sidewalks.
The Uptown Clean-Up was scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 at 5:30 PM. The board did not record formal votes on these operational items; several were recorded as action items and staff follow-ups.
