Committee members raised board conduct and scheduling matters at the close of the meeting. A committee member (Speaker 4) proposed considering a guideline to limit board members’ use of cell phones during meetings, noting that, under the Freedom of Information Act, meeting-related phone content could be subject to public records requests.
The committee chair (Speaker 2) agreed to examine the issue and the group set the next policy committee meeting for June 1 at 5:00 p.m. to continue reviewing outstanding policies. The meeting adjourned with thanks to district counsel Allison Hannah.
