New Deming Chamber director outlines membership gains; Commission on Aging reports contract hire of financial manager

"I am the new executive director of the Deming Chamber of Commerce," Arce said, and invited questions following her remarks.
Separately, a speaker identified as Mary reported that the Commission on Aging held a special meeting that morning and "entered into a contract to hire Barbara Rios as our financial manager," describing the role as responsible for organizing books, updating licenses and managing grants. Mary said Rios is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 26 and that the commission’s regular meeting is set for the 29th at 9:00 a.m.
No formal action by the full board on these organizational updates was recorded during public comment. The chamber director offered to take questions after her presentation; the Commission on Aging reported the hiring was completed at its special meeting earlier the same day.
