City appoints Michael Perkins to Parks, Recreation and Beautification Committee

Vince DeFranco described long-standing community involvement as a Little League treasurer and said he commutes to work out of town but maintains a full-time home in Clovis. Michael Perkins said he has lived in Clovis since 2022, served 25 years on active duty in the military and currently works as the city27s planning and zoning administrator. Perkins said he wants to support parks programs that provide activities for children and help address adolescent issues in the community.
Commissioners completed ballots and staff announced Michael Perkins had been selected to serve as the District 1 representative; Phil Frasey (listed in the record as Phil Frasey/Frasee) was reappointed to the Curry County seat without opposition.
The appointment takes effect immediately; staff encouraged both candidates to continue civic involvement if not selected.
