Town of Bernalillo canvas approved; clerk reports 14% turnout and names winners

“I am Ida Farrow, town of Bernalillo, clerk, administrator,” Farrow said before summarizing the town’s results: 851 votes cast from 5,095 registered voters (about 14% turnout), 13 absentee applications/ballots, 457 early votes, 380 election-day votes, and one hand tally. Farrow provided candidate totals in the mayoral and council races, reporting that Jack S. Torres received 606 votes and James Baca received 244 votes; she reported two council positions won by Vincent Seferina Montoya (614) and Jared Prairie (607).
A motion to approve the Town of Bernalillo’s canvas was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Board members and clerks exchanged thanks for election support; one commissioner used the opportunity to voice broader concern about persistently low municipal turnout over the past eight years and urged public outreach to improve participation.
Farrow offered to provide the system-generated election summary for the record and thanked Bureau of Elections staff and volunteers for assistance.
