Fire Chief Matthew Prop told the commission that the county was awarded a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity and now holds state certification as an ambulance service. "We finally reached the end, and now we're certified," he said, thanking staff for their work on the process.
Commissioners congratulated the department and noted the certification advances local emergency medical services and public safety. Chief Prop said staff are already working with reporting and billing vendors to enable insurance reimbursement, which he described as part of expanding the service without increasing the county budget.
The commission expressed appreciation for the fire and EMS staff and asked staff to pursue billing improvements that could help expand services.
