Board approves two rezones to allow detailing shop and campground expansion

Rezone 24-009 (David Fruin) was presented by the zoning committee chair; the request would reclassify about 2.1 acres from Residential Recreational 1 to Commercial 1 to allow an auto and marine detailing business with living quarters near Big Fish Golf Course. The town of Hayward had approved the request and the zoning committee recommended approval 5–0. Supervisor Tweed Schuman moved to approve the rezone and the board carried the motion by voice vote.
Rezone 24-010 (John Bedagliaco) was described as a request to rezone approximately 4.69 acres to Residential Recreational 2 to facilitate an expansion of an existing campground (related to CUP 24-014). The change would increase the campground by 17 sites to a total of 57 sites; the town of Hunter had approved the request and the zoning committee recommended approval. A motion to approve the rezone was made and carried by the board.
Both items were presented as routine zoning matters with notice to adjacent property owners and supporting staff reports; no public objections were recorded in the board discussion.
