The City Council approved the 2026–27 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) annual action plan and the allocation of $507,676 in HUD funds.
Community services director Adriana Nava told the council the final allocation is $507,676 (up from an earlier estimate of $502,000) and presented the program breakdown: $101,535 for program administration; $75,966 set aside for public services (including $25,000 for fair housing, $15,000 for senior nutrition, $10,000 for a homeless day center and $15,000 for youth programs); and approximately $330,001.75 for other eligible projects including code enforcement and a streetlighting project on 8th Street.
Nava said the plan will be posted for public review April 14–May 14 and that the city will submit the final plan to HUD by May 15, 2026. A public commenter, Rodriguez, told the council he reviewed the packet materials and supported the allocations.
"We actually received our allocation early this year, and they have informed us that we will be receiving a little bit more funding," Nava said. The council adopted the resolution 5–0.
