County Attorney Josh Hardin told the commission the FEMA Flood Hazard Determination Appeal Process will run from Dec. 13, 2023 through Mar. 13, 2024. Following the attorney’s report, the board approved a list of 2024 county holidays.
The holidays list was approved by motion of Aaron Frazier, seconded by Julie Guinn; the minutes record a unanimous recorded electronic vote of 22 yes. Attorney Hardin’s report was recorded on page 716 of the official minutes.
Why it matters: the FEMA appeal window gives property owners and local officials a defined period to submit appeals to flood hazard determinations; the holiday list sets official county observances for 2024.
The meeting then moved to commissioner comments and adjournment.
