Silver Spring Planning Commission roundup: minutes approved, several plans tabled, ASA forwarded

The Silver Spring Township Planning Commission convened Sept. 4, 2025, and conducted routine business, several motions and a set of tablings. The commission approved the minutes from Aug. 7, 2025 on a McDonald/Sandys motion; Mr. Randy Duncan recorded an abstention. The commission approved motions to table revised plans for Hunters Glen and the Ahmadiyya Cemetery at the applicants’ requests.
A final lot add‑on and land development plan for Sporting Green Apartments, a five‑building project with 252 units, was presented and tabled at the applicant’s request while applicants complete engineering and NPDES permit work. The commission considered an Agricultural Security Agreement (ASA) for the Klingler parcel on N. Old Stonehouse Road; neighbors raised a survey dispute. The commission forwarded the ASA to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation for approval subject to staff and engineering comments; the motion carried with two members recorded as opposing and Vice‑Chairman Curt Helman breaking the tie.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m. on a McDonald/Secary motion.
