Plan Commission recommends City Council approve resubdivision at Heritage Harbor to create two duplex lots

The Ottawa Plan Commission on Jan. 26 voted to recommend City Council approval of a final plat to resubdivide Lot 74 in West Peninsula Unit 2, Heritage Harbor.
Rachel Schneider of Duttlinger & Associates appeared on behalf of the petitioner and summarized the request: the proposal would reconfigure a lot previously approved for a four‑unit multifamily building into two separate lots, each containing a duplex, maintaining the same total number of dwelling units.
Commissioner Burns moved to recommend approval to the City Council of the final plat for the resubdivision of Lot 74; Commissioner Hughes seconded. The motion carried unanimously with Burns, Stone, Ruiz, Hughes, Mangold and Volker voting aye.
A general discussion followed about the long‑term development history and evolution of the Heritage Harbor subdivision; no changes to the recommendation were made during that discussion. The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for final action.
