Authority staff presented video of a JCB Model TM320 wheel loader operating at the wastewater treatment plant and a quotation from Stephenson Equipment on Aug. 20, saying the unit would be used to load biosolids into tractor‑trailers with a side height of 12 feet, 9 inches.
Vice Chairman David Lenker said he was not in favor of the JCB because of past negative experiences with that brand. After discussion the board requested that staff obtain quotes from other vendors and arrange demonstrations to verify operational suitability. Staff was directed to present the additional quotes and demonstration results for the board’s consideration at the September regular meeting.
A meeting memo included a loader line-item of $183,920 in the current project cost review table; the Authority did not approve a purchase at the Aug. 20 meeting.
