Hanover Township Committee introduces three ordinances, approves consent agenda and bills

HANOVER, N.J. — At its Jan. 8 Township Committee meeting, Hanover officials introduced three ordinances, approved a consent agenda of resolutions and authorized payment of bills.
The clerk read the titles of three ordinances into the record and the committee voted to introduce them. The ordinances are: Ordinance 1-2026, adopting a 2026 salary incentive plan for specified job titles; Ordinance 2-2026, amending code sections governing composition and transition of the chief of police; and Ordinance 3-2026, amending municipal clerk hours and adding a new subsection authorizing the clerk to approve raffle and bingo licenses. The clerk set a public hearing for all three ordinances on Feb. 12 at 8 p.m.
Resolutions 27-2026 through 33-2026 were presented as a consent agenda; a motion and second were made and the committee approved them without discussion.
The committee then moved to pay bills; the amount read into the record was "$8,837,787 and 50 mark 4¢." The motion to pay the bills was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The committee opened the meeting to public comment and requested speakers state their name and address and observe a four-minute limit. No members of the public took the podium, and the chair closed the public comment period.
After routine business concluded, the committee received an update on the township’s fourth-round fair share housing plan from Fred Samrau and then adjourned.
