Clinton County reports attempted unauthorized access to systems; officials say no data breach

Chairperson Daniel A. Srp reported that Clinton County officials identified an unauthorized attempt to gain access to county systems. County officials concluded the attempt did not result in a data breach: "no data breach occurred, no information was extracted, and no county systems or records were damaged," Srp said during the meeting. The Board said it will issue a public press release acknowledging the attempt and noted that county cybersecurity safeguards prevented further impact.
Srp also said county staff would participate in additional Emergency Management Agency training related to radiological emergency preparedness and Public Information Officer responsibilities ahead of a FEMA-observed exercise scheduled for May 19. The Board did not report any loss of data or operational disruption tied to the event.
