The Franklin County Legislature met in a special session on Jan. 28 and voted to create a Director, Office of Economic Development. Resolution No. 27 established the position as Category A, Exempt Class, with an annual base salary of $60,000. The creation of the position was included in the 2016 adopted budget and the board authorized establishing the post to advance county economic projects.
The special session also approved Resolution No. 28, which authorized end-of-year transfers to close the 2015 books: transfers to the District Attorney’s personnel account and a transfer from fines and forfeited bail to the Sheriff’s personal services account were approved to reconcile 2015 expenditures. Both measures were adopted unanimously by members present.
No vote tallies beyond unanimous approval were recorded in the minutes; the resolutions directed administrative follow-up through the County Manager, County Attorney and the Clerk as appropriate. The board recessed immediately after completion of the special-meeting business.
