Byram council approves routine resolutions, appoints planning board member and swears in four firefighters

Byram Township Council handled a series of routine and ceremonial items during its Feb. 18 meeting, approving a consent agenda of resolutions, appointing a new Planning Board member and swearing in four new fire department members.
The consent agenda (moved by Councilwoman Franco and seconded by Councilman Proctor) included Resolution No. 054-2025 (Tilcon New Jersey quarry license), Resolution No. 055-2025 (Raimo of Stanhope license), Resolution No. 056-2025 (authorizing Environmental Commission trail clean-up events), Resolution No. 057-2025 (authorizing the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference to provide services not to exceed $13,000), and several resolutions granting 100% disabled veteran tax-exempt status and refunds for listed block/lot properties. The motion to approve the consent agenda carried as recorded in the minutes.
Mayor Rubenstein swore in new fire department members Timothy Moylen, Alex Wrobleski, Timothy Stapfer and Andrew Debski. The council also appointed Karen Lewandowski to the Planning Board. Township Manager Joseph Sabatini announced the budget introduction will be held March 4 and the budget adoption is scheduled for April 1. Recreation Committee business included postponing the Polar Plunge to March 16 because of weather and securing a band, "The Wood Vibrations," for the outdoor summer concert on July 19 at Lakes School.
Public participation periods produced no comments, and the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
