Board members discussed logistics for teacher attendance on June 22 and implications for certified and non‑certified staff; Suzanne said contractual obligations and union negotiations addressed those differences and that staff certification matters had been negotiated.
Board members generally supported using Juneteenth for programming rather than moving other days, saying it is an educational opportunity. One member asked whether adding minutes to a day would change the count; board members replied that altering day length would be legally or logistically messy and that the district would keep the planned half‑day and programming.
