Carrboro council approves consent items, votes 7–0 to enter closed session

Mayor Barbara Foushee moved to approve the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes from the Feb. 17 meeting and a condominium agreement and condominium deeds with Orange County governing operation of the Drakeford Library Complex. After a voice vote the mayor declared the motion carried, 7–0.
Later in the meeting Council Member Posada Orozco moved to go into closed session for attorney–client privilege. The motion was seconded and approved by a 7–0 vote. Town Manager Tony asked the council to add an additional closed-session topic regarding negotiation of a potential contract related to real property and referenced a statute number as recorded in the transcript: “statute 1 43 3 18 11 15.”
The council recessed briefly and then approved the motion to move into closed session. No public action or final decision on the real-property matter was recorded in the open meeting; the council left the public record and proceeded under the closed-session rules.
