The Peterborough Select Board opened a public hearing on Tuesday to consider selling a small, town‑owned parcel on Greenfield Road.
Tyler Ward, chair of the Peterborough Select Board, opened the hearing under RSA 41:14. Town staff member Nicole MacStay told the board that the Planning Board reviewed the proposal at its prior meeting and supported the sale while recommending that future sales consider affordable housing goals.
MacStay said the potential buyers had offered $3,000 for the parcel and that the buyers appeared to have been unaware the property encroached on town land when they purchased it. Under RSA 41:14 the board must vote no sooner than seven days and no later than ten days after the hearing; Ward and Select Board member William Kennedy said they will be out of town during that window, and MacStay said she would explore options for timing the vote.
After public questions from audience members about the offer and background of the sale, Ward moved to close the hearing; Bill Taylor seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board did not complete a sale at the meeting; any formal action approving the conveyance must occur within the statutory 7–10 day window specified by RSA 41:14.
