The Milton Conservation Commission confirmed on May 26 that it was awarded an $800 Tiny Grant to fund a kiosk and map for the Milton Town Forest.
William Pikul, chair of the Milton Conservation Commission, reported the grant award and said he and Chris Taylor signed the grant paperwork. The design calls for 6x6 timber kiosk posts; Steve Mitchell will coordinate ordering the signs, Poulin Lumber will invoice the town, and mounting brackets may be purchased through Ace Hardware.
Commission members also discussed related outreach and wayfinding. Tim Cunningham requested consideration of adding signage along Ritchie Avenue to complement GMP’s new signs. The commission reviewed updated vinyl sticker designs for the Milton Town Forest, the Lamoille Riverwalk and Eagle Mountain that incorporate Selectboard-requested changes and supported moving forward with ordering the stickers.
Bonnie Whitlock was thanked for her assistance with the grant application and project development. The commission discussed next steps for construction and implementation but did not record a separate formal vote on construction scheduling at the May 26 meeting.
