Lindenhurst Village Board reviews draft FY 2022–23 budget, sets public hearing for April 25

Village Administrator Clay Johnson presented the Village of Lindenhurst’s draft fiscal year 2022–23 budget at the April 11 board meeting and said department leaders outlined capital improvement projects tied to public safety, operations and utilities.
The presentation highlighted factors expected to affect revenues and expenses in FY 2023 and included project proposals from Police Chief Tom Jones, Operations Director Kevin Klahs and Utility Systems Manager Charles Hernandez. Administrator Johnson said the draft is intended to keep projects within the Village’s available resources while meeting board priorities.
Trustee Pat Dunham’s March treasurer’s report — accepted earlier in the meeting — showed an ending balance of $12,640,025.99 across Village accounts as of March 31, 2022, which the board and staff cited as context for capital planning.
After discussion, the board noted that a public hearing and possible adoption of the budget are scheduled for the next regular Village Board meeting on Monday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. The board said it will accept comments on the budget by email at mail@lindenhurstil.org through April 25 and will read those comments into the record at the hearing.
The next formal step is the April 25 public hearing, when trustees may adopt the budget or make changes based on public input and further staff recommendations.
