Boca Raton Historical Society outlines summer programming and museum milestones

Olivia Hollis, executive director of the Boca Raton Historical Society, gave a brief presentation to the council about the society’s activities and the Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum.
Hollis said the museum serves as an official visitor information location for the Palm Beaches and reported more than 6,000 visitors and 23 community programs in recent months, plus education outreach to students through field trips and presentations. She described the special exhibition "The Fourteenth Colony," on view through Aug. 27, which explores Florida’s role during the Revolutionary period, and highlighted summer events including lectures, youth workshops and concerts tied to the America 250 initiative.
Mayor Thompson and other council members thanked Hollis and noted the Historical Society’s volunteer cleanup efforts and partnership with the city. Hollis invited residents to museum programs and noted the historic town hall centennial planning underway.
