VFW Post 1499 site plan approved for modular building behind Fincastle Baptist Church

Planning staff Neil Whitmore reviewed the application. Representatives John Hartsock and Eric Evje explained the proposal to replace an existing single‑wide with a double‑wide modular building that would be positioned behind the church so it would not be visible from the street; Mr. Hartsock said the building is currently in Covington and would be moved to the site. He also said the structure is used for meetings by Rockbridge Community Services. Board members commented that the addition appears to be an improvement over the current setup and asked that contractors be considerate of the nearby cemetery during construction. The board voted unanimously to approve the submitted site plans.
