The Washington Court House City Council on May 22 approved two resolutions and advanced several other items on first reading.
Council adopted Resolution R17‑2026, which authorizes City Manager Joseph J. Dennen to enter a cooperative paving agreement with the State of Ohio (PID 119204) for work on U.S. Route 22 and U.S. Route 62. The motion for adoption passed by roll call.
Council also adopted Resolution R18‑2026, authorizing the city manager to enter into a full‑service street‑lighting agreement with Miami Valley Lighting LLC; the motion for adoption passed by roll call.
On first reading, council placed Resolution R19‑2026 (a pre‑July‑1994 residential Community Reinvestment Area agreement with 4 Star USA Real Estate Group) and Resolution R20‑2026 (confirming the city manager’s appointment of Steve Willis to the Board of Zoning Appeals through Dec. 31, 2029) on the agenda. Council also placed Resolution R21‑2026 on first reading to authorize application for NatureWorks grant funding and accept grant obligations if funded.
Why it matters: R17 and R18 authorize contracts that affect local infrastructure and street lighting maintenance; R20 fills a board vacancy and R21 seeks outside grant funding for park or recreation improvements. These measures set the administrative steps necessary for project delivery and grant pursuit.
Next steps: the adopted resolutions will be executed by the city manager; items on first reading will return for further consideration per the council schedule.
