Co-Chair Joanna Sorensen reported that the cemetery shed contains a heavy lead burden that must be removed and recommended the commission pursue a comprehensive assessment before seeking rehabilitation funds from the Community Preservation Committee (CPC).
Sorensen asked that the commission undertake an overall, comprehensive evaluation of the shed’s structure and contamination and then pursue CPC funding to address removal and rehabilitation. The commission did not vote on funding at the meeting.
The commission noted the shed’s condition for follow-up and suggested that a formal assessment and an application to the CPC would be the next steps.
