The Lake City Council on May 26 voted to authorize an application for Federal Aviation Administration Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act grant funds for T-hangar taxi-lane rehabilitation and drainage improvements at Lake City Gateway Airport.
City Attorney Martin read resolution 2026-064 by title, explaining the measure authorizes the city to apply for the grant, recognizes the authority of the city manager or the manager's designee to submit the application, and directs related administrative actions. The mayor highlighted the city match is 1 percent.
The council moved and approved the resolution by roll call; there were no public comments on the grant application. Mayor Walker thanked state-level partners and noted the state budget had been put forward for approval by the governor.
Next steps: the city manager or designee may submit the FAA grant application and proceed with required administrative steps if the application is accepted.
