Brown County approves initial purchase of brackets for veterans' patriotic banners

Brown County commissioners on May 26 approved an initial purchase of mounting hardware for a veterans patriotic banner program and discussed the program's expected lifespan and display plan.
Chairman Lucas Heinen said banners would be available for purchase by Brown County veterans for $150 each and that the banners are expected to last about five years. Heinen moved to approve the initial purchase of 40 pairs of mounting brackets at approximately $40 per pair from the commission budget; Commissioner Richard Tesoriero seconded the motion and it carried.
Commissioners were told the banners will be displayed for a few months each year and stored in the courthouse for the remainder of the year, and that any donations received to support the program would be returned to the commission budget.
The motion to approve the bracket purchase concluded with no additional conditions recorded in the minutes.
