The Dallas County Board of Supervisors certified the results of the Dec. 30, 2025 State Senate District 16 special election during its Jan. 2, 2026 meeting.
Motion by Supervisor Brad Golightly and seconded by Supervisor Julia Helm approved Resolution 2026-007 to adopt the official abstract and correct clerical errors. According to the resolution, "the commissioner of elections reported that there were 0 provisional ballots rejected and 0 provisional ballots that were counted." The board adopted the resolution; Supervisor Kim Chapman was recorded absent for the vote.
The board's certification was taken under Iowa Code Section 50.22(3) and the minutes indicate the board corrected any obvious clerical errors in the canvass. The resolution states the county filed the official abstract of the election with the county auditor.
