Commissioners discussed insurance matters tied to the museum and the county’s volunteer fire departments. The agenda included an item to discuss workers’ compensation coverage for museum workers and enhanced coverage for VFDs; the court tabled that item for a future date and took no action.
The museum director cited donations and community support as essential to any reconstruction project; commissioners did not commit county funds at the May 11 meeting. The insurance question will return to a future agenda for more detail and possible action by the court.
