The Caribou County Board of Commissioners on April 11 approved donating a 1995 ambulance to the City of Grace and signed a letter of support for an ambulance grant application after Public Safety Director Eric Hobson said the county’s endorsement would improve the application's scoring.
Commissioner Mark Mathews made the motion to donate the surplus 1995 ambulance; Commissioner Phil Christensen seconded and the motion carried. Hobson also said he is pursuing a Department of Lands grant to obtain PPE under the county’s mutual-aid agreement. City representatives had earlier requested an increased free-garbage week (May 2–14) and expressed interest in the old ambulance; the commissioners said they would follow up.
The action transfers the ambulance to the City of Grace and records the county’s formal support for the grant application; the deed for Geyser Park was also reported as nearly ready to sign at the next meeting.
