The Papillion Planning Commission on March 25 recommended City Council approve a three-tract annexation package (MISC-26-0004) and supported an amendment to include two City of Papillion-owned outlots in Granite Creek East for future recreational amenities.
Staff (speaker 6) described Tract A (Summerfield Second Addition, SID 191, roughly 19 acres), Tract B (Papillion Professional Park, SID 232, ~1.65 acres), and Tract C (Highway Crossing, SID 199), which staff said is about “a 122 acres” and contains industrial and distribution businesses, including a FedEx facility. Staff said all departments reviewed the request, recommended approval to the commission, and anticipated minimal impact on city services. The finance and administration committee recommended adding the two city-owned parcels (Woodlands property in Granite Creek/Granite Creek East) so those recreational parcels would fall inside corporate limits.
Commissioners discussed timing and state reporting deadlines; Commissioner (speaker 7) moved to recommend approval of the annexation as amended and the clerk announced a 6-0 vote. The commission also recommended a related zoning-map update to reflect the annexed areas.
