The Seekonk Select Board authorized the town administrator to sign a finalized solid-waste collection contract with MIGA Transportation Group at its June 26 meeting.
Staff told the board the contract is a five-year agreement that begins with fiscal year 2025 on July 1, 2024, and includes two additional five-year renewal options. According to staff the contract submitted to the board included only minor, non-substantive edits from the version awarded at bid.
The board approved the contract by motion and scheduled signatures prior to adjournment. Implementation was assigned to the town administrator; staff said operations under the new agreement will begin with the FY25 service year.
What’s next: the town administrator will sign the contract and the town’s solid-waste vendor will begin service under the new terms on July 1.
