LuAnn Hildebrand said she raises and releases butterflies from her porch and worried that county mosquito spraying scheduled for the next evening could harm pollinators; she cited MSDS guidance that suggests residents stay indoors. Mayor Gene Lau said he would call York County in the morning to ask why Red Lion had not been notified.
Kelly Ruppert described a persistent nuisance at 125 E Prospect St., saying "my child cannot play outside due to the mosquitoes and smell of cat urine" and noting uncertainty about utilities at the property. Zoning officer Erick Sowers explained the borough’s quality‑of‑life ticket process and said the property has been referred to the district magistrate after no response to tickets. Ian Montgomery reported that the 2025 Street Fair had 205 vendors and thanked EMA and Alliance Fire Company volunteers for their assistance.
Council did not take immediate enforcement votes during public comment but instructed appropriate staff and officials to follow up with county mosquito control and to monitor the nuisance referral.
