Commissioners set 30-day reinspection after partial cleanup at unsafe property on Brooksburg Back Street

Jefferson County commissioners scheduled a follow-up inspection in about 30 days for a property the board has been monitoring at 7749 E. Brooksburg Back Street.
County Zoning Officer Josh Cline told the board some progress has been made since the April 16 meeting, including removal of a water heater and cleanup in portions of the yard, but that items remained on the front porch and elsewhere on the lot. Property resident Lee Dunn said additional cleanup had occurred since the most recent photographs were taken and that many of the remaining items are necessary medical equipment for a disabled resident.
Dunn raised concerns about what he described as inconsistent enforcement compared with neighboring properties. Commissioners acknowledged the improvements and set a reinspection timeline of roughly 30 days; the board said if the property is found to be in compliance at reinspection, no further action will be required.
The update was presented as a follow-up to the board’s April 16 unsafe building discussion; next steps are limited to routine inspection and enforcement procedures unless future inspections indicate noncompliance.
