Boonville board approves iWorQ implementation fee, payment option and subscription details to be finalized

City staff presented a proposal to adopt the iWorQ cloud permitting and code-enforcement platform. Staff said the vendor quoted a subscription fee and a one-time implementation charge; during discussion the board heard figures that included a $9,500 subscription and a $12,600 one-time setup fee. One speaker also referenced an annual amount of $9,000 for ongoing service dependent on configuration.

Staff noted that the payment-module would let applicants pay fees online but that the vendor’s payment gateway charges a convenience fee typically borne by the customer (quoted examples in the discussion included a 3.5% or $2 minimum charge). Board members emphasized they did not want the city to absorb the payment processor cost.

After discussion, a motion to approve proceeding with the $12,600 implementation/setup payment and to adopt iWorQ pending Tammy’s (city finance/administrative) review of payment-module configuration passed by voice vote. Staff said they will return with final contract language and the chosen payment option before enabling online payments.
