Rhiannon Natali presented updated Cemetery Rules the board will forward to a May 12 study session with City Council. The minutes show the rules were reviewed by staff at the April 1 meeting; the board recorded the presentation but did not take a formal vote on the rules at that session.
Natali also reported that the cemetery completed its transition to the Tyler system on March 1. Staff said the new system moved nearly 68 unit plans in February, resolved initial setup issues, and eliminated credit-card processing fees, which should reduce costs to the cemetery budget. Seasonal preparations are under way at Elwood and Fairview cemeteries.
Operational figures in the minutes show services are up by five compared with the prior year and 51 graves are planned for spring sod installation pending growing conditions. Fundraising for Wreath Across America is ahead of previous years, with 338 wreaths sponsored so far; staff noted ongoing work to improve participant tracking for the event.
No ordinance, contract or formal adoption was recorded for cemetery rules at the April 1 meeting; the minutes indicate the rules will be presented to City Council at the May 12 study session.
