The City of Braidwood council approved payment of $215,036.85 in bills and authorized three payroll items, and staff announced the proposed timeline for the 2025 property tax levy.
Finance staff moved to approve bills totaling $215,036.85 and read a line‑item breakdown (nearly $49,000 for garbage; roughly $23,000 for utilities; $13,000 for an IEPA loan payment; $20,000 for salt‑plant/sludge treatment; medical insurance and engineering costs were also cited). "The motion is for $215,036.85," finance staff said; the council seconded the motion and approved it by voice vote.
On payroll, finance staff moved to approve three payrolls: $103,929.24 and $129,481.23 for regular payroll runs and a one‑time police officer stipend of $4,950. The council voted to approve these payroll entries.
Staff also reported an estimated 2025 property tax levy of $2,000,195, noting that figure is less than 105% of the amount extended the preceding year. Finance staff said final action on the levy is proposed for the city council meeting on Dec. 10, 2024.
The council did not attach conditions, amendments or spending offsets to these approvals during the meeting record.
