At the May 13 meeting the Morgans Point Resort City Council approved several routine and procurement actions.
Land-use and minutes: Council closed a public hearing and approved variance 25006 allowing a fence extension at 15 Golden Poppy Loop after a neighbor explained safety and bus-stop concerns. The consent agenda, including the April 8 minutes (25005), was approved by voice vote.
Interlocal agreement and ordinance: Council approved interlocal agreement ILA2501 to authorize Bell County to regulate subdivision plats and maintain infrastructure in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction. Council also adopted ordinance 25007 to reflect that permitting authority in the code.
Engineering services: After receiving six RFQ responses, staff recommended Casper Patrick and Associates LP (KPA) for RFQ2503/RFQ25016 general engineering services; council authorized a three-year contract and directed staff to prioritize projects through the capital-improvement process.
Public-safety grant: The police chief presented a resolution to apply for the SB224 catalytic-converter-theft grant to purchase cameras and related equipment. The chief said the grant is an "80/20" award and that each camera costs about "$2,500 a year." Council authorized staff to apply.
All motions described above were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Any contract awards will be executed by the city manager as authorized.
