The Madera Beach Board of Commissioners approved Ordinance 2025‑18 on Sept. 24 to amend Appendix A of the fees and collections procedures manual and extend the building‑permit fee‑waiver date from Sept. 26, 2025 to March 26, 2026.
City Attorney read the ordinance by title and said the change is the only modification in the manual on the cited page; the ordinance also repeals Ordinance 2025‑13 where applicable. The attorney said the date is being extended "based upon the direction given to us by the board of commissioners." The city attorney clarified that the subparagraph language about when a property must be sold remains in place and that applicants still must file the required application.
A staff member reported: "we've received about 67 responses via email to extend it, and approximately 53 have gone on to the website and applied that way." The board moved and seconded the ordinance amendment and the city clerk recorded the motion as carried 5‑0.
The ordinance amendment adjusts the deadline in the manual; the city attorney said the language in the subparagraph remains sufficient to communicate the application requirements. Commissioners indicated the extension is intended to allow additional applicants time to apply.
