FAPT meeting time moves earlier; DSS to rotate FAPT representatives over coming years

At the July 28 CPMT meeting members recorded a change made at the June 2 FAPT meeting to move the Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) start time from 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. The change was presented as a way to accommodate an increased caseload and to allow families time to participate in service-plan reviews.
Melinda Kay Smith, Tazewell County School Director of Special Services and CPMT member, selected Amanda Watson to replace Angela Steele as the Tazewell County Public School representative on FAPT and named Daniel Osborne as Watson’s backup. David Taylor, DSS director, said DSS will rotate its FAPT representative: Rebecca Smith will serve beginning Sept. 1, 2025; Kim Hodge beginning Sept. 1, 2026; and Sheri Hale beginning Sept. 1, 2027. The Parent Representative seat remains vacant.
Minutes record these as administrative membership and scheduling changes; no formal vote on the time change is recorded in the July 28 minutes (the time change was discussed and voted at the June 2 FAPT meeting).
