CPMT removes unused WRAP funds from monthly agenda; reviews CQI dashboard and training opportunities

Tazewell County CPMT agreed Aug. 25 to remove the Encumbered WRAP Funds line from monthly agendas because the Office of Children’s Services shows a $0 allocation; members also reviewed the CSA Continuous Quality Improvement dashboard and upcoming training and conferences.
At its Aug. 25 meeting the Tazewell County CPMT discussed agenda management and program oversight, agreeing to remove the Encumbered WRAP Funds item from the monthly agenda because the Office of Children’s Services allocation for that line shows $0 and there is no data to review.
Sheri Hale made the motion to remove the WRAP Funds item from the agenda; Arlene Matney seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. Members agreed the item will be restored if WRAP funding becomes available for Tazewell County.
Members also reviewed PowerPoint slides and handouts for the CSA Continuous Quality Improvement dashboard — covering expenditure, mandate type, placement and service utilization and outcome measures for Tazewell, Buchanan and Russell counties and statewide — updated through August 2025. The CPMT discussed the data presented and next steps for utilization management.
The group reviewed the Office of Children’s Services September 2025 training calendar. Lori Gates-Addison reminded members of the Pathways to Hope Suicide Prevention Conference on Sept. 11, 2025, and noted that Cumberland Mountain CSB offers Safe Talk training (2–2½ hours) for foster-care parents, caregivers and guardians. The meeting coordinator reminded members about the Commonwealth of Virginia Children’s Services Act Conference Oct. 14–16, 2025, with a free pre-conference session for CSA coordinators, CPMT and FAPT members on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
CPMT members also reviewed updated CPMT and FAPT organization charts and an updated members list; Roberta Boyd said she will contact Janet Wilson as a potential parent representative and members discussed criteria for filling the vacancy.
