Tazewell County’s CPMT on July 28 approved adding Embrace Foster Care LLC to the county’s roster of contracted CSA providers for 2025–2026 and reviewed a requested edit from Grafton School to its service agreement.
Members reiterated a standing administrative rule that a provider cannot serve a CSA youth without a current contract on file, noting the liability implications. "Providers cannot provide services for any CSA youth without having a current contract on file," the minutes state.
The CPMT approved Embrace Foster Care LLC as a vendor by motion of David Taylor and second by Michelle Brown; the motion passed unanimously. Separately, Grafton School requested an edit to Section 17 (CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES INFORMATION) to limit notification obligations to incidents involving a child placed by Tazewell County, explaining that Grafton operates multiple locations, including out-of-state facilities, and would not notify Tazewell about incidents at non-Tazewell placements.
Members asked Chair Robbie Davis to seek further clarity from Grafton regarding the requested language change. The CPMT voted to submit an email poll to accept the requested edit once the chair confirms the proposed wording and its scope.
