Passaro Associates’ representative James Ritzfeller (S12) appeared for Bob Johnson Lexus and asked the board for a 5-foot height variance for a new Lexus-branded sign at 4700 West Henrietta Road. Ritzfeller said the old Buick GMC sign was removed and the proposed Lexus sign follows the manufacturer’s standard design.
Board members observed the new sign is roughly 120 square feet larger than the prior sign but noted the total number of permitted signs on the property has decreased because one pylon sign was taken down. The applicant said the new design is intended for brand recognition and to match neighboring franchise signage.
After questions about the total square footage relative to older variances, the board moved to approve the requested height variance, finding the impact would be minimal and that the location was appropriate for the signage.
Ritzfeller thanked the board and said the applicant would proceed with building and permitting consistent with the approved variance.
