Woodbury approves Hotchkissville fire-station garage-door contract and funds library bathroom repairs

At its May 26 meeting the Woodbury Board of Selectmen awarded a contract to Overhead Door of Waterbury, not to exceed $30,000, for replacement of the Hotchkissville Fire Station garage door, and approved funding of $11,155 (including a 15% contingency) to renovate two leaking library bathrooms to meet ADA standards. The library project was to be funded from the Borough’s Special Revenue Fund as presented; the board asked the Board of Finance to effect the transfer.
The garage-door award was made through the State of Connecticut DAS contract and carried 3-0. The transfer for the library bathroom renovation also carried 3-0; the town noted the project must meet current ADA requirements and that the 15% contingency addresses potential ADA-related costs.
The Transfer Station brush-grinding award was tabled pending further review after one bid appeared significantly lower than others and the Public Works Director will confirm scope coverage before the board considers an award.
