The Dilworth City Council adopted a concise 2025 strategic plan designed to guide budgeting, long-range planning and daily decision-making around five focus areas: city vitality, economic development, public safety, transportation infrastructure and organizational infrastructure.
"We came up with some goals… five main areas of focus that the city council wanted to put its effort towards," Peyton said, summarizing the planning process and saying the staff will publish a full narrative for public access.
Councilmembers asked whether the final document would include narrative context for the bullet-point goals; Peyton replied the full narrative will be available and that staff intends to produce a concise desk reference that managers can use in everyday decision-making.
On a motion by Nash, seconded by Borah, the council voted to adopt the 2025 strategic plan. Council members said the document will be used to align future budgeting and project decisions with the agreed priorities.
The council directed staff to finalize and publish the full strategic plan and to incorporate the priorities into upcoming long-range planning meetings.
