Clarksdale board approves hires, contracts and a preliminary plat; auditors to arrive Oct. 20

Separately, the board approved an agreement to retain Neil Shaffer for side-slope corrections at the landfill. The city attorney said a county-city equipment-lending renewal agreement was statutorily permissible and the board renewed the interlocal equipment-lending agreement.
The clerk announced that auditors from Bridges, Goodman & Baird will be on site beginning Oct. 20 for a two-week audit of the city’s books, and the board acknowledged the schedule. Numerous motions on miscellaneous claims, vacancy postings and personnel classifications were moved and carried by recorded 'Aye' votes.
What happens next: Staff will post open positions, execute the agreements and proceed with the audit schedule; actions taken were routine administrative approvals recorded in the meeting minutes.
