City staff reports February quarter finances above expectations; council accepts report

City staff presented the third‑quarter financial report for the period ending February 2025, and the council moved to accept the report.
Scott Wells told council that general property tax receipts, building‑permit fees, Class C road funds and the RAPs tax allocation were above the budgeted amounts for the third quarter. Wells said cemetery lot and capital revenues, interest and Founders Day revenue (fireworks) were also up and highlighted that department insurance, travel and supply lines showed increases in some accounts. Wells explained that subdivision‑related engineering and attorney review fees are charged back to developers.
After a brief council discussion and no substantive questions, a council member moved to accept the financial report; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The acceptance places the financial report in the record; councilors did not take additional budget action at the June 4 meeting.
